About Moleskine
The Moleskine story is one of the great brand revivals. For over a century, small French bookbinders produced little black oilcloth notebooks — carnets moleskines — beloved by the artists and writers who passed through Paris, from Van Gogh and Picasso to Hemingway. Travel writer Bruce Chatwin gave them their nickname and their legend: in The Songlines he recounts learning that the last family workshop in Tours had closed in 1986 — "Le vrai moleskine n'est plus" — and buying up every notebook he could find before leaving for Australia. In 1997, Modo&Modo, a small Milanese publisher, brought the notebook back to life and established the Moleskine trademark, hand-finishing the first run of 5,000 in Milan. The signatures remain unchanged: rounded corners, elastic closure, ribbon bookmark, ivory paper and a binding that lies flat. Today Moleskine is a global icon of creative culture — which is precisely what makes it such a powerful canvas for a brand.

Moleskine Heritage & Design
What you're really giving with a Moleskine is the story. Recipients recognise the elastic band and rounded corners instantly, and the association with two centuries of artists and thinkers does quiet work on your brand's behalf — this is merchandise people photograph, carry into meetings and actually fill. The design principles that made the original legendary are intact: ivory pages that take every pen, a bound spine that opens flat, the ribbon bookmark, the back pocket. For corporate gifting, that pedigree translates into perceived value far beyond the unit cost, and unlike consumables, a notebook keeps your logo on the table for the six to twelve months it takes to fill. Our team can help you match formats to your gifting tiers — executive boxed sets down to event-scale Cahiers.

+ What is the story behind Moleskine notebooks?
Moleskine is the modern heir to the little black notebooks made by French bookbinders and carried by two centuries of artists and thinkers — Van Gogh, Picasso and Hemingway among them. When the last workshop in Tours closed in 1986, writer Bruce Chatwin famously bought up every remaining notebook; in 1997, Milanese publisher Modo&Modo revived the design and established the Moleskine brand. That legend is exactly why a branded Moleskine carries more weight than an ordinary notebook.
+ Which Moleskine is best for corporate gifts?
For executive and client gifting, the Large Classic Hard Cover Notebook is the icon — or step up to the boxed Notebook and Pen Gift Set, which arrives presentation-ready in a smart black box. For conferences and events where volume matters, the softcover Cahier and Volant journals deliver the Moleskine name at a friendlier per-unit cost. Many businesses tier the range: boxed sets for VIPs, Classics for clients, Cahiers for delegates.
+ What makes Moleskine notebooks special?
The details that made the original legendary: rounded corners, an elastic closure, a ribbon bookmark, ivory-coloured pages and a bound spine that lets the notebook lie flat. Combined with the brand's two-century creative heritage, these signatures make a Moleskine instantly recognisable — and instantly signal quality when your logo sits on the cover.
+ Can I order Moleskine backpacks in small quantities?
Yes — both the Moleskine Ripstop Backpack and the Metro Slim Backpack are available from just 1 unit, making them ideal for individual executive gifts, awards or sampling before a larger rollout. The Ripstop is a lightweight water-resistant nylon pack for travel; the Metro Slim is an urban daily carry with a magnetic flap closure.
+ Can I see an artwork proof before production?
Yes. Supply Crew provides a detailed artwork proof for every custom order, ensuring your branding placement, size and finish are reviewed and approved before production begins.
+ What is the minimum order quantity for custom Moleskine products?
Minimum order quantities are unusually accessible for a premium brand: the two backpacks start from just 1 unit, Classic, Pro and Volant notebooks from 10 units, the Art Sketching Kit from 12, and the Cahier Journal, Go Pen and boxed gift set from 25. The exact minimum order quantity is confirmed on each individual product page.
+ How long do custom Moleskine orders take to produce and deliver?
Custom Moleskine orders typically take 2–4 weeks for production and delivery, depending on the products selected, the branding method and order volume. Our team will confirm an exact turnaround estimate once your order and artwork are finalised, so you can plan around your conference, event or gifting date.
