About Portwest
Portwest began in 1904, when Charles Hughes opened a small shop in Westport, on Ireland's west coast. More than a century later the company is still owned and managed by the Hughes family in Westport, and it has grown into a specialist designer of protective clothing: high-visibility garments, flame-resistant workwear, safety footwear, work gloves and personal protective equipment. Hi-vis is the heart of the range. Shirts, polos, fleeces, hoodies, vests and jackets come in Class D for daytime and Class D/N for day and night use, with reflective tape in standard, X-back and band-and-brace layouts.
