About STAEDTLER

STAEDTLER was founded in Nuremberg in 1835 and remains one of the oldest industrial manufacturers in Germany, with pencil-making in the family name stretching back to the seventeenth century. Nearly two centuries later it is still headquartered in Nuremberg and still manufacturing in Germany — the graphite pencil in this range carries a Made in Germany mark, which almost nothing else in the promotional stationery category can claim. That heritage matters commercially rather than sentimentally: STAEDTLER is a name recipients recognise from school desks, drawing boards and offices, so a branded pencil or marker reads as a quality item rather than a giveaway. The modern range adds a genuine environmental dimension, with upcycled wood and certified timber running through the pencil lines.

Custom STAEDTLER Pencils, Markers & Highlighters at Supply Crew

Supply Crew stocks eight STAEDTLER styles across three families. The pencils lead: the Graphite Pencil with a 175mm round barrel in certified wood with a gloss finish, made in Germany; the Carpenters Pencil, a 240mm white-lacquered pencil with an oval barrel for a secure grip; and the Colouring Pencil Sets of 6 and 12, both crafted from upcycled wood with an ergonomic soft-surface finish. The Pencil Set is the standout for gifting — an upcycled wood graphite pencil fitted with a stylus tip that works on any capacitive touchscreen, presented as a set. On the marker side sit the Lumocolor Whiteboard Marker and Lumocolor Permanent Marker, both with chisel tips delivering broad or fine lines from roughly 2 to 5mm, the whiteboard version writing on whiteboards, glass and porcelain and the permanent version waterproof. Completing the range is the Textsurfer Classic Highlighter, with a large ink reservoir and fast-drying, Inkjet Safe water-based ink.

STAEDTLER Sustainability & Quality

Five of the eight styles carry a Recycled flag and five are flagged as natural material, and the reason is the timber. The colouring sets and The Pencil Set are made from upcycled wood — timber reclaimed from other manufacturing rather than newly felled — while the graphite pencil uses certified wood from responsibly managed forests. For a business ordering hundreds or thousands of pencils, that's a meaningful shift in the footprint of a high-volume item, and it's a far stronger position than a plastic pen. The quality side is equally practical: Inkjet Safe highlighter ink that won't smudge a printout, permanent marker ink that's genuinely waterproof, and pencil barrels finished to a standard that survives a conference bag.

STAEDTLER FAQs

+ Can I get STAEDTLER products with my logo?

Yes. Supply Crew supplies genuine STAEDTLER products custom branded with your logo, with print the usual method on pencil and marker barrels. The white-lacquered Carpenters Pencil and the plain barrels on the colouring pencils give particularly clean branding surfaces. Our team will recommend the best method and placement for your artwork.

+ What custom STAEDTLER products does Supply Crew offer?

Supply Crew stocks eight STAEDTLER styles: the Graphite Pencil 175mm, the Carpenters Pencil, Colouring Pencil Sets of 6 and 12, The Pencil Set with stylus tip, the Lumocolor Whiteboard and Permanent Markers, and the Textsurfer Classic Highlighter. Browse the products above for colours and full specifications.

+ What is upcycled wood?

Upcycled wood is timber reclaimed from other manufacturing processes and given a second use, rather than sourced from newly felled trees. In the STAEDTLER range it's used in the colouring pencil sets and The Pencil Set. For a high-volume item like a pencil, it's one of the most practical sustainability improvements available — the same product, made from material that would otherwise have been waste.

+ What is a chisel tip marker?

A chisel tip is angled rather than rounded, so the same marker draws a broad stroke when held flat and a fine line when turned on its edge — roughly 2 to 5mm on the STAEDTLER Lumocolor markers. It's the more versatile choice for whiteboards and presentations, where you need headings and detail from one pen rather than swapping between two.

+ What's the difference between the whiteboard and permanent Lumocolor markers?

The Whiteboard Marker is designed to wipe cleanly off whiteboards, glass and porcelain, making it the choice for meeting rooms, classrooms and presentations. The Permanent Marker uses waterproof ink that stays put on almost any surface — the one for labelling, warehousing, site work and creative projects. Both share the same chisel tip and 2 to 5mm line range.

+ What does Inkjet Safe mean on a highlighter?

Inkjet Safe means the highlighter's water-based ink won't smear inkjet-printed text when you highlight over it. Anyone who has highlighted a freshly printed document and watched the words smudge into a grey line knows why it matters — the STAEDTLER Textsurfer Classic is formulated to dry fast and leave printouts intact.

+ Are STAEDTLER pencils made in Germany?

STAEDTLER has manufactured in Nuremberg since 1835 and remains one of Germany's oldest industrial companies. The Graphite Pencil 175mm in the Supply Crew range carries a Made in Germany mark. Manufacturing origin varies by product, so check the individual product page or ask our team if it matters for your program.

+ What is the minimum order quantity for custom STAEDTLER products?

Minimum order quantities vary across the range: The Pencil Set starts at just 10 units, the colouring pencil sets at 50, the markers and highlighter at 100, and the graphite and carpenters pencils at 250. That makes the range workable both as a small executive gift and as a high-volume conference or school item. The exact minimum order quantity is confirmed on each individual product page.

+ How long do custom STAEDTLER orders take to produce and deliver?

Custom STAEDTLER orders typically take 2–4 weeks for production and delivery, depending on the styles selected, the branding method and order volume. Our team will confirm an exact turnaround estimate once your order and artwork are finalised — worth planning ahead for conferences, school terms and end-of-year gifting.
